Special guest Dr Carmel O’Toole, GP

13 April 1:45 pm - 4:00 pm

Special guest Dr Carmel O’Toole GP

IF YOU ONLY ATTEND ONE EVENT THIS YEAR – make it this one! Dr O’Toole, who has spent the last 14 years studying and researching ADHD is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable doctors on ADHD in Australia.

ADHD is not a psychological issue, it is a neurodiverse condition.  Seeing a psychologist for a diagnosis of ADHD is akin to seeing a dentist for a foot issue. A “diagnosis” for medication can only be by a psychiatrist.  The issue is that most psychiatrists, psychologists and GPs have little formal training on ADHD or the vast co-morbidities.

Dr Carmel O’Toole has developed an ADHD accredited course for GPs and allied health professions.  The course covers impacts of ADHD on individuals and the economy, how to identify clients who may have ADHD, how to diagnose ADHD, and how to wholistically treat ADHD.  Currently she is developing an online version of her course.

The course is organised into 3 Units with each Unit having 5 Modules. Each Module is 90-120 minutes in duration.

Dr O’Toole will present a brief overview of the course on Saturday 13th, but is also interested in hearing about the experiences and opinions of people with lived experiences of ADHD.
